Cowgirl Equestrian Falls to TCU in Regular Season Finale

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State's fourth-ranked equestrian team fell to No. 3 TCU, 9-11, at Pedigo-Hull Equestrian Center Wednesday.
With the loss, the Cowgirls finish the regular season 7-5 overall, and 3-3 in the Big 12, while TCU improves to 9-4 overall and 5-1 in the conference.
The Cowgirls took home three MOPs. Freshman Emma Hechtman earned her first career MOP for Fences, while senior Riley Hogan received hers for Flat making this her 20th career MOP. June Roberson earned Oklahoma State's final MOP in Horsemanship.
The meet began with Fences and Horsemanship, losing both events 3-2.
Emma Hechtman tied her career high in Fences of 86 to defeat TCU's Ella Bostwick, while Bella Holway scored a 78.5 to earn her third win in a row. Sophomore Alie Hunter earned a career high of 80 today against Ashleigh Scully but would lose the matchup, alongside Riley Hogan and Mackenzie Carreras.
In Horsemanship, June Roberson and Claire McDowall earned the two points for OSU. Roberson's point marks her ninth win of the season, while McDowall picked up her eighth. Alana Stanton would fall to TCU's Sidney Dunham, 68-68.75, while Bella D'Onofrio and Peyton Baxter also lost their respective rides.
After the intermission, the meet would conclude with Flat and Reigning.
The Cowgirls took the team advantage in Flat, 3-2. Gable Gering posted a score of 81 to defeat TCU's Lily Goldstein, followed by Hannah Dodd collecting her second-straight win. Riley Hogan scored an 86 against Lex Lipacis, leading to her ninth MOP award this season. The win marks the seventh time the Flat team has beaten its opponents this season.
The Reining squad lost the team advantage, 2-3. Quincee Clark won the matchup against Lannie-Jo Lisac, 70.75-65.75, while Abby Budd earned a score of 68.25 to win the point. Sophomore Emma Filiatreau, junior Tristan Bagby and sophomore Ava Bush lost their respective rides.
The Cowgirls will now prepare to defend their Big 12 title when they travel to Fort Worth for the conference tournament March 28-29.
