Cowgirl Equestrian to Host Baylor

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State's fifth-ranked equestrian team hosts No. 9 Baylor Friday for its third meet of the season. In their last meet, the Cowgirls defeated No. 4 SMU 12-8 to give them their first win of the season. Baylor is 1-3 and coming off their first victory of the season against No. 8 Fresno State. The meet will take place 12:00 p.m. at Pedigo-Hull Equestrian Center.

Head coach Larry Sanchez, in his 27th year at the helm, leads the Cowgirls alongside seventh-year assistant Laura Brainard, third-year assistant Alle Durkin, first-year assistant Ashley Duda and Jody Brainard, who is in his third year with the program and first as an assistant coach.
2024-25 Review                                                                                                                     Â
Winning their fifth straight Big 12 Championship, the Cowgirls finished 9-6 overall and reached the quarterfinal round of the NCEA Championship. Under Western assistant coaches Laura and Jody Brainard, the Cowgirl Reining squad compiled 44 wins and nine MOPs while the Horsemanship tacked on 43 wins and six MOPs. June Roberson and Claire McDowell were named All-Americans in Horsemanship while Abby Budd, Emma Filiatreau and Quincee Clark earned the honors in Reining.
Jumping Seat assistant Alle Durkin helped coach the Fences group to 33 wins and nine MOPs to go along with the Flat team who accrued 36 wins and six MOPS. Riley Hogan capped off her incredible career with two All-American selections. She was named to the second team in Fences while being an honorable mention in Flat.

The Cowgirls went 5-3 against Big 12 opponents last season, including two wins on their way to the program's first ever conference championship five-peat, something no team in the Big 12 had previously accomplished.

June Roberson has started her senior season 2-0 with a 76.5-76.25 win at TCU and a 78-75 victory vs. SMU. Her performance against the Mustangs fell just shy of her 78.5 career-high mark which she achieved in her sophomore year. Roberson now sits at 29 career wins. Roberson was named to the All-American first team in Horsemanship as well as the All-Big 12 team.
Emma Filiatreau is off to a 2-0 start to the season, including MOP honors 10/3 at TCU. Last year, Filiatreau was named to the All-American second team as well as the All-Big 12 team. She took home NCEA Reining Rider of the Month in November, as well as Big 12 Rider of the Month in November and February.
Cadence Kueker shined last week vs. SMU, collecting the lone MOP for the Cowgirls after her 87.5-79.5 win in Flat. Kueker, a senior, is 1-1 on the season in her first two collegiate rides.
Freshman Lauren Gee has had an outstanding start to her OSU career. Gee is 1-1, but has posted scores of 86 and 84.5 in her first two collegiate runs in Fences. Gee is coming off the first win of her career vs. SMU on October 10.
Junior Bella Holway has a combined record of 3-1 for the Cowgirl Jumping Seat unit, where she is 2-0 in Fences and 1-1 in Flat. Holway scored an 87 in Fences last meet against SMU to go along with an 81 in Flat.
