October 27, 2025 | Cowboy Tennis
Norman, Okla. – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team wrapped up its week at the ITF's pro tournament, the M25 Norman Open, highlighted by a semifinal run made by Ian Bracks and Thomas Gadecki.
Gadecki and Bracks, playing in their third fall tournament this season, went on a strong run in Norman.
They started in the round of 16 with a battle against Oklahoma's Johan Rodrguez and Orel Kimhi, taking it in a tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-2, [10-5]. Things played out similarly in the quarterfinals as Bracks and Gadecki took down Adam Jones and Maxwell McKennon, 4-6, 6-3, [10-5]. The Cowboys ended their run in the semifinals as they fell to OU's 9th-ranked pairing of Oscar Lacides and Bruno Nhavene.
Derek Pham was the lone Cowboy to make it through the singles qualifying, defeating Jones in straight-set fashion, 6-2, 6-1, before dropping his round of 32 match to Shunuke Mitsui, 6-4, 6-1.
Gadecki and Bracks return to action today at the UTR PTT College Station, while Pham takes on the M25 Harlingen Circuit. Both events will go from Oct. 27-Nov. 2.
Professionally, alum Julian Cash netted his seventh ATP doubles title of the year at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna, Austria.
Cash, who was an All-American for the Cowboys back in 2017, along with his doubles partner, Lloyd Glasspool, defeated four straight ATP top-50 pairings on their way to title No. 7 on the year. In the title match, Cash and Glasspool defeated 27th and 29th-ranked Francisco Cabral and Lucas Miedler in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6(6).
Along with his Wimbledon title back in July, Cash also has titles in Canada, Australia, Qatar and two others in Great Britain.
Cash now ranks second in the world in doubles, only behind his partner Glasspool.
Cash will head to Paris, France, for this week's ATP Masters 1000 Paris from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2, with most matches being streamed on the Tennis Channel.
