Â
The Matchup
Oklahoma State has never met Southeast Missouri State or Texas State. The Cowgirls will look to extend their win streak in non-conference matches to 14 against the Redhawks and Bobcats on Saturday.
Â
History in 2024
Oklahoma State put together one of the most dominant seasons in program history in 2024. The Cowgirls finished 29-1 while breaking program records for win percentage (.967) and win streak (29). They also captured their first-ever ITA Indoor National Championship, third Big 12 Tournament title and fourth Big 12 regular season championship. Sixteen of OSU's 29 wins came against opponents ranked in the top 30, including seven against teams in the top 10 at the time of the match, marking another program record. Individually, the Cowgirls boasted three All-America selections, the Big 12 Player of the Year (Ange Oby Kajuru), Big 12 Newcomer of the Year (Anastasiya Komar), Big 12 Coach of the Year (Chris Young) and nine All-Big 12 selections.
Â
The NCAA Tournament Streak
With a trip to the Sweet 16 last season, Oklahoma State made its 12th straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. During that time, the Cowgirls have reached six Sweet 16's, two Elite 8's and one NCAA final in 2016.
Â
New Faces
Oklahoma State's new additions made an impact in the season opening win over Wyoming, accounting for four doubles starters and five singles starters. Georgia transfer Gracie Epps and freshman Rose Marie Nijkamp recorded two wins each on the night, while Utah transfer Marcela Lopez and freshman Alian Zack contributed points in singles. LSU transfer Kylie Collins also got her first win as a Cowgirl, pairing with Epps in doubles on court two. Returner Anastasiya Komar logged wins singles and doubles as well, and third-year Cowgirl Amber Hochstatter earned her first singles win at OSU.
Â
Defending the GTC
The Cowgirls were once again dominant at the Greenwood Tennis Center in 2024, going 16-1 with five wins over opponents ranked in the top 25. The 16 wins are the second most at home in a single season in program history, behind only 18 in 2016, and OSU is 125-19 at home since the Greenwood Tennis Center opened in 2014, adding another to the total with the win against Wyoming on Wednesday.
