OSU also appeared atop the Big 12 preseason poll for the second straight season, garnering 15 of the 16 possible first-place votes, with Arizona State receiving the only outlier.
Â
The Matchup
Wednesday will be the fourth meeting between Oklahoma State and Wyoming and the first since 2019. OSU is unbeaten in the series, getting a 7-0 win in 2019, a 4-0 win in 2018 and a 7-0 win in 2016, all of which took place at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
Â
History in 2024
Oklahoma State put together one of the most dominant seasons in program history in 2024. The Cowgirls finished 29-1 while breaking program records for win percentage (.967) and win streak (29). They also captured their first-ever ITA Indoor National Championship, third Big 12 Tournament title and fourth Big 12 regular season championship. Sixteen of OSU's 29 wins came against opponents ranked in the top 30, including seven against teams in the top-10 at the time of the match, marking another program record. Individually, the Cowgirls boasted three All-America selections, the Big 12 Player of the Year (Ange Oby Kajuru), Big 12 Newcomer of the Year (Anastasiya Komar), Big 12 Coach of the Year (Chris Young) and nine All-Big 12 selections.
Â
The NCAA Tournament Streak
With a trip to the Sweet 16 last season, Oklahoma State made its 12th straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. During that time, the Cowgirls have reached six Sweet 16's, two Elite 8's and one NCAA final in 2016.
Â
New Faces
Alongside returners Anastasiya Komar, Ange Oby Kajuru and Lucia Peyre, Oklahoma State has added proven winners and young talent to its lineup for 2025. Head coach Chris Young brought in Kylie Collins, Marcela Lopez and Gracie Epps through the transfer portal, along with freshmen Rose Marie Nijkamp and Alian Zack. Collins, a three-time All-American, arrives at OSU after two years each at LSU and Texas. Lopez joins the Cowgirls after two seasons at Utah, where she was an All-Pac 12 selection last season, while Epps, a former blue-chip prospect, contributed to a national runner-up Georgia team in 2024. The freshmen enter with impressive resumes, too, as Nijkamp is a former Wimbledon Junior Doubles champion and Zack holds a career-best ITF junior ranking of No. 179.
Â
Defending the GTC
The Cowgirls were once again dominant at the Greenwood Tennis Center in 2024, going 16-1 with five wins over opponents ranked in the top 25. The 16 wins are the second most at home in a single season in program history, behind only 18 in 2016, and OSU is 124-19 at home since the Greenwood Tennis Center opened in 2014. Oklahoma State has 11 home matches on the schedule in 2025, including each of its first five contests.
