Cowgirls Set for Battle in the Bay

STILLWATER- Four members of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team will open their fall slate at the Battle in the Bay in San Francisco, California, on Thursday.

Play will begin at 12 p.m. CT when the top-ranked and top-seeded Cowgirl duo of Anastasiya Komar and Ange Oby Kajuru open doubles play against Haley Gaudette and Sarah Branicki of Georgia.

At the same time, Marcela Lopez and Gracie Epps will make their OSU debuts against Sally Pethybridge and Alaia Rubio Perez of the University of Portland.

Singles play will begin later in the day, with No. 5 Kajuru entering as the top seed and opening against Virginia Tech's Ozlem Uslu at 2 p.m. Lopez will then take on third-seeded No. 14 Amelia Honer of UCSB at 4 p.m.

Komar enters the draw as the four seed and will open singles action against Gaudette at 6:30 p.m. Epps will play the final match of the day, facing the runner-up in last season's NCAA Individual Championships and second-seeded Anastasiia Lopata from Georgia at 7:30 p.m.
