About Oklahoma State
    • Oklahoma State is coming off a 12-8-0 season in 2023 in which the Cowgirls finished seventh in the Big 12 standings with a 5-5-0 conference mark.
    • The Cowgirls return nine starters and 16 letterwinners from last season.
    • The 2024 season is the 29th in program history; over the first 28, OSU posted a 334-185-63 (.628) record. Head coach Colin Carmichael enters his 20th season at the helm in 2024 with a 251-105-50 mark.
Â
Scouting The Opponents
    • Nebraska is ranked No. 6 nationally after going 17-4-3 and advancing to Elite Eight of the NCAA Championship in 2023. The Cornhuskers return three All-Big 10 performers from last year's conference championship squad.
    • The Cornhuskers played two preseason exhibition matches, defeating Kansas City, 5-1, on their home field and dropping a 1-0 contest at Oklahoma.
    • OSU is 7-10-0 all time against Nebraska. The former Big 12 Conference foes last met in 2010, with the Cowgirls winning a regular season match in Stillwater and a Big 12 Championship contest in overtime in San Antonio.
    • Oral Roberts opens the season with a road match at Texas A&M-Commerce. The Golden Eagles are coming off an 8-7-4 showing in 2023.
    • The Golden Eagles defeated USAO by a 6-0 margin in a preseason exhibition match on their home field last week.
    • OSU is 13-2-0 in its all-time series with ORU. The last meeting came in 2019 in Stillwater, with the Cowgirls claiming a 4-0 victory. OSU has won 11 consecutive meetings against the Golden Eagles dating back to 2002.
Â
Last Time Out
Oklahoma State hosted Tulsa in a preseason exhibition match last week and claimed a 5-1 victory.
Xcaret Pineda and Lexi Lee led the attack for the Cowgirls, with both scoring two goals, while Alex Morris also found the back of the net. Freshmen Katelyn Hoppers and Reganne Morris each notched assists.
OSU outshot TU by a 28-5 margin, with 16 of those shots on goal. The Cowgirls also owned a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
   Â
Veteran Presence
The 2024 Cowgirls are an experienced group, with nine starters and 16 letterwinners returning.
Both Mollie Breiner and Alex Morris are in their fifth year of competition with OSU and have each played in nearly 70 career games for the Cowgirls.
Graduate transfer Grace Gordon is in her second year in Stillwater following three seasons at Seton Hall, while fellow grad transfers Kate Dreyer (Kansas) and Makenzie Graham (Virginia Tech) will also play their fifth and final collegiate seasons with the Cowgirls.
Another transfer, Jaidy Gutierrez Campos, played her first three seasons at South Alabama and started 50 games in goal.
Â
New Faces
The Cowgirls' 30-player 2024 roster counts 11 newcomers, which includes eight freshmen and three transfers.
    • Two of OSU's freshmen were on the list of TopDrawerSoccer.com's IMG Academy Top 200 players for the '24 recruiting class — forwards Mabry Williams (No. 79) and Aubrey Wagner (No. 130).
    • Freshmen Logan Marks and Reganne Morris were early enrollees in January 2024 and participated in the Cowgirls' spring exhibition season.
    • From the transfer portal, OSU added goalie Jaidy Gutierrez Campos from South Alabama, who was a three-time All-Sun Belt Conference performer who recorded 28 shutouts in three seasons; defender/midfielder Kate Dreyer, who played in 60 games in her career at Kansas; and midfielder Makenzie Graham, who played on three NCAA Tournament teams in four seasons at Virginia Tech.
Â
Back On the Attack
OSU returns 76 percent of its scoring from last season as nine players that combined for 28 of the Cowgirls' 37 goals are back. Logan Heausler (7) and Pineda (6) are OSU's top returning goal scorers.
That's a stark contrast to a year ago when OSU entered the season with only three active players who had scored a goal in their careers (Xcaret Pineda, Mollie Breiner and Chloe Wright), and that trio had combined for just four goals prior to the season.
Â
Mavens Of The Midfield
OSU midfielders Xcaret Pineda and Laudan Wilson were named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team. The Cowgirls' duo makes up two of the 24-player team selected by the conference's head coaches.
Â
Cowgirl Country
Oklahoma State's 2024 roster includes players from 11 states as well as Canada and Mexico.
Â
Home Sweet Home
OSU has won 78 percent of its games in four seasons at Neal Patterson Stadium, which opened in 2019. The Cowgirls are 43-10-5 on their current home turf, including posting a 9-1-0 mark last season.
OSU has gone undefeated at home in seven seasons in its history, the last time coming in 2019.
