Cowboy Tennis Pairing Climbs to No. 8, Team Ranking Improves

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's court one pairing of Isaac Becroft and Tyler Zink surged to No. 8 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association DI Poll, while the team moved up to No. 32, it was announced today.
OSU also added No. 24 Zink, No. 82 Becroft, No. 108 Alex Garcia and the pairing of No. 83 Zink and Garcia.
Oklahoma State moved up four spots from its previous ranking of No. 36 on April 16, as it earned a win over No. 30 UCF in the Big 12 Championships to advance to the semifinal round. It was the second semifinals appearance in as many years for the Pokes. OSU has 17 wins to its name, the most since 2018.
Zink and Becroft earned their highest ranking as a pairing, rising from No. 15 to No. 8. It marks the first Oklahoma State doubles pairing in the top 10 since Matej Vocel and Dominik Kellovsky ranked 3rd on Jan. 13, 2021. The duo added a pair of wins in the Big 12 Championships, knocking off UCF's Lleyton Cronje and Santiago Giamichelle, along with Texas' No. 22 Eliot Spizzirri and Siem Woldeab. Zink and Becroft improved to 5-0 with four ranked wins on the season.
In singles, Zink was slotted in the top 25 for the seventh time this season. He leads the team in singles wins with 16, all on the featured court. He dropped his sixth ranked opponent this season in No. 123 Cronje en route to a 4-2 OSU win.
Becroft appeared in the top 90 for the fourth-straight time. With 15 wins this season, 12 have been in straight sets, including his latest victory over UCF's Francisco Llanes. He also took a set off Texas' No. 3 Micah Braswell, with the match ultimately going unfinished in the third set.
Garcia, slotted at No. 108, owns 11 wins, with eight coming on court two. The graduate has appeared in the rankings for seven consecutive weeks.
The Zink and Garcia pairing has seen no action since March 23, but still retains a top-85 ranking. The duo has tallied a team second-best nine wins.
