Cowgirls Close Non-Conference Action With 92-41 Win Over McNeese

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team wrapped up the non-conference portion of its schedule on Monday evening with a 92-41 win against McNeese in front of 2,020 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowgirls improved to 10-1 on the year.
OSU connected on three of its first four attempts from beyond the 3-point line to take a 9-3 lead at the halfway point of the first quarter.
Defensively, the Cowgirls held McNeese to a 1-of-11 shooting start and a scoring drought of more than five and a half minutes.
Stacie Jones sparked the Cowgirls off the bench in the first, scoring seven points to stake OSU to a 16-8 lead with two minutes to go. The Cowgirls would hold McNeese to just two field goals in the frame, but were marred by seven turnovers. OSU would lead, 18-8, through the first 10 minutes.
McNeese opened with the first four points of the second, before the Cowgirls scored the next six points over a 24-second span.
However, OSU endured a rare stretch of more than six minutes without a field goal before Rylee Langerman got a board and basket with 30 seconds to go and Alexia Smith nailed a halfcourt shot at the buzzer to give OSU a 34-16 lead at the break.
Jones would lead all scorers with 12 points in the half.
The Cowgirls would score 11 of the first 14 points of the second half to extend their margin to 45-19 heading into the media timeout with 4:32 to go in the third.
OSU would hold McNeese without a field goal in the third until 50 seconds remained and would take a 56-27 lead into the fourth after Jadyn Wooten buried a trey from the corner as time expired.
The Cowgirls struck quickly in the fourth with an 8-0 run in a one-minute span to continue to stretch the margin. OSU would use another 8-0 spurt to force a McNeese timeout at the 5:32 mark and with the home team leading, 74-31.
OSU would finish with 36 points in the fourth quarter to match the program record set in the Cowgirls' last outing against Alabama State.
The Cowgirls finished with five players in double figures with Jones finishing with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Wooten scored 16, Stailee Heard and Macey Huard added 15 and Micah Gray scored 13.
