Hinson-Tolchard Clinches Fifth Top-10 Finish Of Season At Clemson Invitaitonal

SUNSET, S.C. – Oklahoma State women's golfer Maddison Hinson-Tolchard secured her fifth top-10 finish of the season at the Clemson Invitational on Sunday. The junior entered the day at even par, but a 2-under 70 in the final round elevated her nine spots up to a tie for eighth.
The reigning Big 12 Player of the Year found much success on par-5's throughout the weekend, shooting 4-under on such holes, while also sinking a team-best nine birdies.
With her pair of 70's in the opening and closing rounds of the weekend, Hinson-Tolchard has now shot 48 par-or-better rounds in her career, just one behind the program record of 49 set by Kenzie Neisen,
As a team, No. 22 Oklahoma State finished ninth at 12-over, but saw much improvement in the third round as it combined for a 3-under 285, nine strokes better than its score from the previous day.
In her second start of the spring, Thitaporn Saithip ended the weekend tied for 27th following rounds of 75-71-73 (+3) 219. The freshman led the field with 43 pars and has now played eight rounds in a row in which her individual score counted towards the team's overall score.
Clemence Martin and Rina Tatematsu both ended the weekend tied for 43rd at 8-over.
After shooting a 76 on Saturday, Tatematsu rebounded nicely in the third round with 1-under 71, closing the day on a hot streak with four birdies in her last eight holes.
Hailey Jones matched Tatematsu with a 71 of her own on Sunday to finish tied for 48th at 9-over.
The Cowgirls will return to action for their regular season finale, the Big 12 Match Play tournament, spanning from April 7-9 at Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Afterwards, Oklahoma State will then shift its attention to the postseason, beginning with the Big 12 Championships on April 21-23.
