STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's golf added to its impressive incoming class, with Tarapath Panya signing her National Letter of Intent on Saturday, as announced by head coach Greg Robertson.
Panya, who goes by the nickname "Kaowhom," has established herself as a top talent at the amateur level, carrying a track record that includes a ranking as high as 372 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
"We had the chance to watch Kaowhom play quite a bit this summer," Robertson said. "She has a lot of talent and will be a great addition to our program. She is very serious about golf and works extremely hard.
"After her recruiting visit a couple of weeks ago, we knew she was the right fit. We are extremely excited that she will be a Cowgirl this August."
From Bangkok, Thailand, Panya has added to her accolades in 2023. In March, she was named tournament champion at the Ditto Championship and, one week later, shot 2-under 214 to win the TGA-SINGHA Junior Ranking #6.
She carried her momentum into April, being named the TGA-SINGHA Junior Golf Champion (A-B) with rounds of 73-67-70-70 to qualify for the FCG International Junior Golf Championship and the IMG Junior World Championship.
Panya made her mark this summer, finishing tied for 11th with rounds of 72-73-72 at the IMG Junior World Championship. She also placed fourth in stroke play at the USGA Girls Junior Championship while also winning her first round of match play.
Panya joins Lucy Darr (Stillwater, Okla.) and Summer Lee (Plano, Texas) as a member of the Cowgirls' strong trio of signees.
