Cowgirls Finish Third To Round Out Regular Season

FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 7 Oklahoma State women's golf finished tied for third at The Bruzzy at Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth, Texas on Tuesday. With the result, this season marked the first time OSU finished in the top-3 of each regular season tournament since the 1973-74 season when it finished first and second in its two tournaments.

The Cowgirls carded rounds of 285, 286 and 287 to finish 6-under and tied with Texas. Baylor finished first at 21-under followed by TCU in second at 9-under. All five Cowgirls finished in the top-25 individually.

Lianna Bailey led the Cowgirls at 4-under to finish tied for seventh. The tournament served as her best 54-hole score and finish of the season.

Rina Tatematsu shot a 1-under and finished in 11th place. The Bruzzy was her return to the Cowgirl lineup for the first time since Feb. 2.

Hailey Jones and Han-Hsuan Yu tied for 13th at 1-over. Maddison Hinson-Tolchard rounded out the Cowgirl lineup tied for 21st at 3-over.

In addition to action at The Bruzzy, four Cowgirls competed at the ORU Spring Invite at The Club in Indian Springs in Tulsa, Okla., this week.

Angelica Pfefferkorn had her career-best finish as a Cowgirl as she finished in a tie for 11th place at 10-over.

Emma Whitaker finished tied for 50th while Ashton Begley finished tied for 55th.

Jenna Solheim rounded out the Cowgirl lineup in 62nd place.

The Cowgirls will return to action at the Big 12 Championship in Hockley, Texas on April 22. Oklahoma State notably won its 10th Big 12 title and 24th conference championship last season to give OSU four more than any other league foe.

Oklahoma State rewrote the Big 12 record books with blistering performances at The Club at Carlton Woods. The Cowgirls set new Big 12 Championship team records for the lowest 18-hole score (270), 36-hole score (549) and shattered the old 54-hole record by 26 strokes after carding the second lowest mark in school history at 34-under 830.

Head coach Greg Robertson heads into the 2021-22 Big 12 Championship having won the past seven conference tournaments he's coached at.
