Cowboy Tennis Set To Take On Navy In NCAA Action

STILLWATER, Okla. - The 19th-ranked Oklahoma State men's tennis team is set to square off with Navy in the first round of the NCAA Championship on Saturday at 10 a.m. (EST) at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, N.C.Â
The matchup will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
Navy enters the tournament with a 9-0 record after winning the Patriot League Tournament for a league-high 13th time.
The Cowboys (9-11 overall, 1-4 Big 12) are making their seventh-straight NCAA Championship appearance, matching the best string in program history. OSU also appeared in seven consecutive NCAA Championships from 2003-09. This will mark the Cowboys' 24th NCAA appearance overall, dating back to their first in 1978.
OSU has advanced to the second round in 15 of its 23 previous appearances with 2019 being the last time they have done so. The Cowboys have moved on to the third round in four of those years with 2016 being the most recent occasion.
North Carolina will face off against Presbyterian on Saturday afternoon in the additional first-round match at the site. The winners of Saturday's matches will meet in Sunday's second round at 1 p.m.
