Cowboy Tennis Bounces Back With 4-1 Win Over Memphis

Stillwater, Okla. - Oklahoma State's 26th-ranked men's tennis team is back in the win column after riding a strong effort in singles play to a 4-1 victory over No. 22 Memphis on Tuesday.

OSU improved to 5-3 on the season, including a 5-1 mark at home.

The Tigers opened the scoring by taking the doubles point from the Cowboys. Court one finished first with OSU's Matej Vocel and Henrik Korsgaard falling to David Stevenson and Oscar Cutting, 6-1. Mathieu Scaglia and Etienne Donnet's match concluded shortly thereafter, dropping court three to Memphis' duo of James Story and Jeremy Taylor, 6-4. When the doubles point was decided, OSU's Dominik Kellovsky and Emile Hudd were leading their contest against Jan Pallares and Patrick Sydow, 6-5, when play was halted.

The Cowboys didn't waste any time in singles to get their rally started, taking the first set on all six courts. Dominik Kellovsky was the first Cowboy to put a point on the board, securing his first set 6-1 before coming back in his second set, 6-4 against Jan Pallares.

Emile Hudd followed quickly in his footsteps taking an impressive victory on court four over David Stevenson in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, to move the Pokes in front. Just like clockwork, Henrik Korsgaard followed his momentum against Oscar Cutting to finish his first set, 6-3. In his second set, Korsgaard cruised, 6-1, to extend the Cowboy margin to 3-1.

Mathieu Scaglia sealed the deal for OSU. After coming back to claim his first set, 7-5. Scaglia ran away with the victory in his second set over Jeremy Taylor, 6-2.

OSU will be on the road this Friday to battle Bedlam rival Oklahoma.
