Cowgirl Duo Honored By American Honda

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State student-athletes Taylor Roe and Maja Stark have been recognized by the Collegiate Women Sports Award Program for their accomplishments on and off the field of play.
Stark starred for Cowgirl Golf last season, while Roe is a standout member of the Cowgirl Cross Country and Track teams.
Both Cowgirls were honored for their outstanding athletic achievements as well as excellence in the areas of leadership, academics and community involvement throughout the 2020-21 school year. A check in the amount of $1,000 on behalf of American Honda was donated in their names to the OSU athletics department in support of its women's programs.
A native of Lake Stevens, Wash., Roe was an All-American in both cross country and indoor track in 2020-21. She finished runner-up at the 2020 Big 12 Conference Cross Country Championship and the NCAA Cross Country Championship and then claimed the Big 12 title in the women's mile and contributed to a runner-up finish for OSU's DMR squad at the indoor conference meet. She was also an Academic All-Big 12 First Team performer in both sports.
Stark, who hails from Abbekas, Sweden, was a first-team All-American and led the Cowgirls to a national runner-up finish at the 2021 NCAA Championship.
The Big 12 Golfer of the Year and also an Academic All-American in 2021, Stark ranked second in the nation with a school-record 70.48 stroke average and finished her sophomore season ranked No. 4 nationally by GolfStat with a 49-2 record in head-to-head competition against top-100 players in the country.
