Cunningham Earns Third Big 12 Newcomer of the Week Award

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State star guard Cade Cunningham earned his third Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award after leading the Cowboys to an upset victory over No. 6 Kansas.

Cunningham posted 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks in the win over the Jayhawks, but no play was bigger than his game-saving block and outlet pass that led to Rondel Walker's game-winning basket on the other end of the floor.

The freshman was 6-of-12 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from deep, which helped the Cowboys take down their fourth NET Tier-1 squad - tied for the national lead.
Cunningham is now the first Big 12 player to garner three weekly awards this season. He's also he 10th OSU player to ever earn three Big 12 weekly awards in one season, and the first since Jawun Evans in 2017.

This is the seventh Big 12 weekly award under head coach Mike Boynton, and this marks the 80th time a Cowboy has been named Big 12 Player or Newcomer of the Week in league history.

OSU is slated to take on No. 2 Baylor on Saturday. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. on CBS.
