Cowgirl Golf Opening Season In Norman At Schooner Fall Classic

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State women's golf team heads to Norman to open the season at the Schooner Fall Classic beginning Sunday at Belmar Country Club.
No. 29 ranked Isabella Fierro and fellow sophomore, Hailey Jones, along with junior Lianna Bailey, and freshmen Rina Tatematsu and Angelica Pfeffercorn will compete for the Cowgirls.
An All-American in 2019, Fierro was recently named to the ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List, an award presented to the Most Outstanding Female Collegiate Golfer of the year.
The Cowgirls received the first-place trophy from country music star Toby Keith at their last two appearances in the tournament and look to continue their winning streak. OSU will compete against rivals Oklahoma, as well as the rest of the Big 12 field at the Schooner Fall Classic.
Sophomore Maja Stark will miss the Cowgirl's first tournament appearance of the season as a result of her winning appearance at the European championships with Sweden. Stark enters the fall 2020 semester as the No. 8 amateur on the planet according to the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
OSU will also be without junior Han-Hsuan Yu and freshman Maddison Hinson-Tolchard for the fall semester. Both Cowgirls will continue to compete internationally before returning to Stillwater for the spring season.
