Five Cowgirls Earn Academic All-Big 12 Selections

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Bailey Benton, Michelle Forsland, Faith Hopkins, Emma Whitaker and Han-Hsuan Yu were among the 36 women's golfers selected to the 2020 Academic All-Big 12 First Team.
This extends Oklahoma State's streak of having multiple players selected for this honor to nine straight years dating back to 2012. Since the league formed in 1996-97, Cowgirl golfers have combined for 65 Academic All-Big 12 selections. The five selections this year are the most for OSU since 2017.
Emma Whitaker (Jr., Management and Marketing) earned her second consecutive Academic All-Big 12 selection. Cowgirl sophomores Bailey Benton (Marketing and Management), Faith Hopkins (Marketing) and Han-Hsuan Yu (Recreation Management) each earned their first Academic All-Big 12 selection in their first year being eligible for the honor.
Michelle Forsland, the lone senior on the OSU women's golf team, earned her first Academic All-Big 12 selection. Forsland who joined the Cowgirls before the 2018-19 season after transferring from Jacksonville State University is a three-time WGCA All-American Scholar award recipient. Forsland was also recently named a 2020 Top Five Senior in the Department of Management and General Business.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters. Freshman and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
