Canadian POY Alexander-Moncrieffe Signs With Cowboy Basketball

Rated a four-star recruit by ESPN and Rivals, Alexander-Moncrieffe is the first two-time BioSteel All-Canadian Player of the Year, an award previously won by NBA lottery picks R.J. Barrett and Thon Maker.
The combo forward is listed by 247Sports as the No. 57 recruit in all of high school basketball and the top recruit in Ontario, Canada. He averaged 21.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.7 steals, and shot 57.0 percent from the floor for Orangeville Prep as a senior in 2019-20.
Alexander-Moncrieffe posted 19 points and 12 rebounds in helping Orangeville win the Ontario Final 8 Championship. In fact, he posted 10 games of 20 points or more, including a pair of 30-point games. His season high of 33 points on 14-of-21 shooting came against RISE Prep in the opening round of the Final 8. Â
A standout for Team Canada, Alexander-Moncrieffe joined future OSU teammates Isaac Likekele and Cade Cunningham in Greece for the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup. He saw action in seven games and averaged 3.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game for the Canadians.
He also suited up for Canada at the 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup, where he averaged 11.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in helping the Canadians finish fourth in Argentina. Alexander-Moncrieffe also shot 60.0 percent from 2-point at the event.
He chose Oklahoma State over offers from Seton Hall, Georgetown, Arizona State, Florida, Oregon and others.
