The Basics
The second-ranked Cowgirl equestrian team looks to capitalize on their success from the fall season as it takes on No. 8 SMU Saturday in Dallas at 10 a.m. OSU is coming off a win in Stillwater vs. South Carolina, where the Cowgirls took the victory, 12-7, on Nov. 23.

About the Cowgirls
The Cowgirls (6-2, 2-1 Big 12) are led by 21st-year head coach Larry Sanchez, first-year assistants Laura Brainard and Olivia Dorey and director of operations Kate Pollard. Caroline Becker is on the staff as a graduate assistant.

An Oklahoma State Win Would...

Improve the Cowgirls' all-time record against the Mustangs to 12-2
Make the Cowgirls 4-0 against ECAC teams this season
Begin the spring season with a win, improving its overall record to 7-2 and keep the Cowgirls No. 1 in the Big 12.

Who to Watch

Katie Schell: The returning junior, who is 7-1 on the year in Flat, and received MOP honors in Flat against UT Martin. She also received MOP honors for her performance in Flat against Baylor. Schell was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Flat for the month of September in the fall season.
Emma Verplank: A returning All-American in Horsemanship and team captain, she earned MOP honors against No. 1 Auburn earlier this year and is 7-1 on the season. Verplank was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Horsemanship for the month of September. She has three consecutive wins in Horsemanship heading into the spring season after her victory against South Carolina.
Hannah Mitchell: Team captain Hannah Mitchell is 5-2-1 this year with MOP performances against South Dakota State and Baylor. Mitchell was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Reining for the month of September.
Team Captain Abigail Brayman is 5-2-1 on the season in the Flat. She was selected as the Big 12's Flat Rider of the Month for October. She has dropped two straight in Flat and is looking to bounce back in the win column vs SMU. She is 4-4 in Fences and coming off an 89-86 win against South Carolina.
Harley Huff is 6-2 in Horsemanship on the season. She has won three straight including a three-point victory last time out against South Carolina. She earned a season-high 77 against Baylor earlier in the fall season and also secured MOP honors against Baylor and UC Davis.
