Two Freshmen Shine In No. 20 Oklahoma State's Sweep Over Memphis

OXFORD, MISS. -Â The No. 20 Oklahoma State Cowboys faced off against the Memphis Tigers on Saturday night in Oxford, Miss. and picked up a 4-0 victory. This was the second match in two days for the Cowboys after falling to the No. 22 Ole Miss Rebels on Friday night.

The Cowboys won the doubles point over the Tigers to start the night off. Brady Draheim and Luke Hammond won the first match of the day on court two over John Pallares and Patrick Sydow, 6-4. Matej Vocel played with Emile Hudd on court one and picked up a win over Oscar Cutting and David Stevenson, 6-4. Dominik Kellovsky and Etienne Donnet paired up on court three, but their match against Marshall Sullivan and Jeremy Taylor was unfinished at 5-2.

Oklahoma State's first singles point of the day came from freshman Etienne Donnet as he defeated David Stevenson, 6-0, 6-4, on court four. The only other Cowboy freshman, Oscar Moraing, defeated Patrick Sydow, 6-2, 6-2, to put OSU up 3-0. No. 91 Dominik Kellovsky would clinch the match for Oklahoma State on court two with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over James Story on court two.

Saturday's victory moves the Cowboys to 5-2 on the year, with their only losses coming at the hands of No. 18 Columbia and No. 22 Ole Miss. Saturday's loss to OSU puts the Memphis Tigers at 1-4 on the season.
