Fierro Named To Midseason Annika Award Watch List

STILLWATER – Following a standout fall campaign, Oklahoma State All-American Isabella Fierro was one of 20 golfers named to the midseason Annika Award Watch List.
Fierro, who boasts a 70.00 scoring average, will enter the spring as the nation's No. 7 golfer according to Golfstat thanks to a 16-3 record in head-to-head matchups against national top-50 players. Her 71.12 career scoring average is currently the lowest in Cowgirl golf history.
The Merida, Mexico native has racked up 48 birdies so far this year, which ranks second nationally, and she also ranks among the top-10 in par-4 (3.99, 6th) and par-5 (4.67, 8th) scoring. Fierro has finished no worse than sixth at every event in the fall, and has two runner-up finishes.
Created in 2014, the Annika Award is annually given to the top female U.S. collegiate golfer. Named for and presented by the legendary Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Commission to acknowledge the top female golfer at the end of the season, to match the Haskins Award for the top male collegiate golfer.
The Cowgirls will return to action at the LTWF Heroes in Sarasota, Flordia on Feb. 7-9.
