Cowboy Tennis Set To Open Season As No. 15 Team In The Country

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State men's tennis team will begin its 2020 campaign ranked No. 15 in the ITA Division I preseason men's rankings released by the ITA on Wednesday.
The Cowboys finished the 2018-19 season ranked No. 22 in the country after ending the year with a 16-12 record. The Cowboys spent all but two weeks ranked within the top 35 of the ITA rankings last season.
In the 2020 regular season alone, the Cowboys are set to face off against 12 of the top 25 teams in the country: Texas (2), Baylor (5) Wake Forest (7), TCU (8), Texas A&M (9), California (14), Michigan (17), Tennessee (18), Columbia (19T), Oklahoma (22), San Diego (24) and Arizona State (25).
Head coach Jay Udwadia will look to lead multiple nationally-ranked Cowboys to a successful season. Most notably, the new duo of Dominik Kellovsky and returning Cowboy Matej Vocel are ranked No. 1 in the country. Luke Hammond and Emile Hudd are currently the No. 19 doubles team in the country. OSU also claims three players in the ITA singles rankings with Vocel at No. 41, Hudd at No. 87 and Kellovsky at No. 91.
The Cowboys will open the 2020 spring season with a match against San Diego State in San Diego, Calif. on Jan. 12 at 10:30 a.m.
