LOUISIANA, La. - Two Cowboys, Emile Hudd and Luke Hammond, competed in the 2019 John Breaux Cajun Classic over the weekend in Louisiana and wrapped up play on Sunday.
Hammond and Hudd were slated to compete in both singles and doubles play throughout the tournament but opted to withdraw from the first round of doubles play on Saturday. Hudd started the weekend off with back-to-back wins over LSU's Tomas Descarrega and Pierre Luquet of USF to advance to the semfinal match. Hudd would drop the semifinal match to Tim Sandkaulen of Ole Miss on Saturday, 7-5, 7-6(7).
Hammond lost his first match of the tournament on Friday, moving him to the consolation bracket. Hammond won his first consolation match but would fall to Ruy Teixera of LSU in the next round on Saturday, 4-6, 6-3. 11-9. Hammond finished his tournament with a victory over Christopher Frantzen of Baylor, 6-3, 6-4.
The Oklahoma State men's tennis team will compete again in the Norman Futures tournament beginning on Monday, September 30.
