Hudd And Hammond Compete In Day One Of Cajun Classic

LAFAYETTE, La. – Oklahoma State tennis standouts Emile Hudd and Luke Hammond kicked off play in the John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic in Lafayette on Friday.
Both Cowboys are competing in singles and doubles play of the tournament. Hudd defeated Tomas Descarrega of Lousiana State in his first-round singles match, 6-3, 7-6(2). Hammond lost to Makey Rakotomalala of Arizona State in his first match, 6-2, 7-6(5).
Singles play of the tournament would continue on Friday afternoon as Hudd would go on to defeat Pierre Luquet of South Florida in the second round of the main draw, 6-2, 6-3. Meanwhile in consolation play, Hammond would defeat Adam Oscislawski of Rice in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
Singles play will continue on Saturday morning as Hudd will be competing in the semifinals of the tournament, while Hammond will continue play in the consolation bracket. The two Cowboys will also pair up in doubles play Saturday and go up against the Rice duo of Oscislawski and Conrad Russell.
