The third-ranked Cowgirl Equestrian team looks to take their Big 12 opener against defending conference champions the Baylor Bears Friday at 1 p.m. OSU is coming of a 13-7 victory against South Dakota State.

The Cowgirls (2-1, 0-0 Big 12) are led by 21st-year head coach Larry Sanchez, first-year assistants Laura Brainard and Olivia Dorey and director of operations Kate Pollard. Caroline Becker is on the staff as a graduate assistant.

-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Katie Schell: A returning junior, who is 3-0 on the year in flat and 2-1 in fences, received MOP honors in both flat and fences against UT Martin. Schell was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Flat for the month of September.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Emma Verplank: A returning All-American in Horsemanship and team captain, earned MOP honors against No. 1 Auburn, and remains undefeated (3-0). Verplank was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Horsemanship for the month of September.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Hannah Mitchell: Team captain Hannah Mitchell remains undefeated on the season posting wins against UT Martin and Auburn. Mitchell was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Reining for the month of September.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Freshmen: Gentry Cherry and JoJo Roberson both received MOP honors against UT Martin.
