Tulsa Hosting Final Tune-up For Cowgirl Golf
April 05, 2018 | Cowgirl Golf
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State women's golf team will take the short drive down the Cimarron Turnpike for its final tune-up event, the Dale McNamara Invitational, from April 9-10 at the Tulsa Country Club.
The Cowgirls check in at No. 17 in this week's Golfweek national rankings thanks to top-three finishes in each of their last two events.
Emma Broze is playing the best golf of her career. The senior has finished 11th or better in each of the last four outings and is leading the squad with a 73.80 scoring average. In fact, Broze has posted a 73.58 scoring average in the four events this spring, and tied her career low round of 67 at the PING/ASU Invitational.
The tournament is named for legendary Tulsa women's golf coach, Dale McNamara, who coached 26 years and won four national titles. Oklahoma State won the Dale McNamara Invitational in 2011 at Patriot Golf Club, while Cowgirl Val Skinner won the individual title in 1981.
The event tees off for 36 holes at 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning, and the final round will begin at the same time on Tuesday morning.
