STILLWATER – Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boynton announced the signing of heralded paint presence Kentrevious Jones (6-10, 290, F/C, Macon, Ga., Quality Education Prep [N.C.]).
The former Xavier signee was named by 247Sports.com as the nation's No. 35 center and the No. 7 overall player in the state of Georgia in the high school class of 2017.
"We are thrilled that Kentrevious will be joining our program," Boynton said. "He comes from a great family and has been coached very well at every stop in his career thus far. Kentrevious is a tremendously hard worker who shares the values that we consider most important in building a championship program. He has a great desire to learn, and an even greater desire to win. He will bring a great post presence to our program. Kentrevious has a really high basketball IQ and will be valuable for us on both ends of the court for years to come. We can't wait to work with him."
Rated a three-star recruit by ESPN.com, Rivals.com, Scout.com and 247sports.com, Jones averaged 21.2 points and 13.8 rebounds at Central High School in Macon, Georgia, where he helped the Chargers win a regional championship.
Jones later played at Macon's Westside High School, where he averaged a team-high 20.3 points and 7.9 rebounds as a senior, including a career-best 33-point outing against his former school.
He was also a key member of Atlanta Xpress on the AAU Circuit.
Jones attended prep school in 2017-18, most recently at Quality Education Academy in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and will have four years of eligibility at OSU.
