Cowgirl Golf Headed Back To Darius Rucker Intercollegiate
March 01, 2018 | Cowgirl Golf
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Coming off her first hole-in-one in a Cowgirl uniform, Kenzie Neisen and the No. 14 Oklahoma State women's golf team will look to "Be the One" on the leaderboard in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at the Long Cove Golf Club.
Â
This is the seventh consecutive year that the former Hootie and the front man has said "I'm Going Home" to sponsor the event with his alma mater, the University of South Carolina.
Â
OSU will have a tough test as the field holds nine other teams ranked in the top 25, according to Golfstat, six of which are within the top 10. OSU will try to build up its resume and leave the other teams in its "Cracked Rear View."
Â
The Cowgirls have made two appearances in this event and have "Scattered, Smothered and Covered" the leaderboard. First showing came in 2016 where the team finished fourth and in 2017 finishing ninth.
Â
Senior Chih-Min Chen hasn't been "Tangled up and Blue" in the spring season so far. Chen has placed tied for eighth place in the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge and tied for 28th place at the All-State Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate. In those six rounds of play, Chen has been able to knock in 16 birdies.
Â
"Not Even the Trees" can hope to slow down the Cowgirls this weekend.
