Cowgirl Golf's Chen Carries Momentum Into Big Easy
February 16, 2018 | Cowgirl Golf
NEW ORLEANS – Oklahoma State junior golfer Chih-Min Chen is coming off the best outing since her freshman year, and will look to keep that momentum going at an event she's only known success at – the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship at the English Turn Golf & Country Club.
The Big Easy has been just that for Chen, who has finished 7th and 10th in her two appearances at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate. Three of her six rounds at the event have been at or under par.
Chen opened the spring season last week with an eighth place finish at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. She led all Cowgirls with a 5-over 218 and posted nine birdies overall in playing her best golf since winning the Big 12 Freshman of the Year award in 2016.
Chen will be joined on the course by two-time Big 12 individual champion Kenzie Neisen, senior Alexis Sadeghy, freshman Stephanie Astrup, and Emma Broze, who will be making her spring debut.
The Cowgirls will tee off at 9 a.m. Sunday, and live scoring can be found at GolfStat.com.
