Cowgirls Knock Off RiverHawks, 70-37, In Exhibition Action

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team tipped off its 2018-19 campaign on Sunday afternoon with a 70-37 win over Northeastern State inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
With the win, the Cowgirls have now won 23 exhibition contests in a row, including 10 in a row under head coach Jim Littell.
Both teams got out of the gate slowly, with OSU taking a 10-9 lead into the second quarter.
Sophomore Braxtin Miller got going in the second quarter, hitting a 3-pointer from the corner with 1:14 on the clock to push the Cowgirl lead into double digits at 29-18. She and classmate Vivian Gray each scored 10 points in the half.
OSU would outscore NSU 22-11 in the period to take a 32-20 lead at the break.
Late in the third quarter, the Cowgirls used a quick 6-0 run to extend to a 47-24 advantage.
OSU shot 50 percent in the final period, while holding the RiverHawks to just six points to pull away.
Gray led all scorers with 18 points to go with eight rebounds, while Miller finished with 16 points.
The Cowgirls will open their regular season on Nov. 9 when they host Arkansas State at 11 a.m.
