State Titles Give Cowgirl Golf Confidence Heading Into Opener

STILLWATER – Coming off a hot summer, Oklahoma State women's golf team looks to go back-to-back at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Cowgirl seniors: Maddie McCrary, Kenzie Neisen and Alexis Sadeghy are heading into this season with impressive play from this summer.
Neisen won the Minnesota Women's State Open, McCrary came out on top in the Women's Texas Golf Association State Amateur Championship and Sadeghy won the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship and WOGA Stroke Play Championship.
"It is so awesome to see my teammates accomplish great things like that," said Sadeghy. "We had Maddie (McCrary) win the Texas state and Kenzie (Neisen) win her Minnesota and we have Min [Chih-Min Chen] competing for her country."
The Cowgirls dominated in Albuquerque last year going 20-under par 274-287-283 – 844 and won the tournament with a combined 25 birdies.
Oklahoma State will be starting four seniors, three of which will be making their fifth appearances at New Mexico's University Course. The 24th ranked Cowgirls will be taking on six other top-25 squads in the inaugural Golfweek national rankings.
"It fits everyone's game really well," said McCrary. "We know it. We have played it multiple times and so it's just fun going back there."
It is a comfortable feeling in The Land of Enchantment, to say the least.
The Cowgirls will play 36 holes on September 9 then 18 holes the following day, and you can follow live scoring at BirdieFire.com.
