Cowgirl Golf Riding Momentum Into Windy City

STILLWATER – Fresh off a win in its season-opening event, the No. 8 ranked Oklahoma State women's golf team is headed to Chicago to take on seven other Golfweek top-25 squads at the Windy City Collegiate Championship at Northmoor Country Club.
For the second straight season the Cowgirls opened the year with a win at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico. OSU carded rounds of 291-284-288 (-1) 863 to top No. 6 Northwestern by two strokes, while seniors Kenzie Neisen and Maddie McCrary both posted top-5 finishes.
Neisen and McCrary will once again lead the OSU lineup, and will be joined by freshman Stephanie Astrup, senior Alexis Sadeghy and junior Chih-Min Chen, who will be making her season debut.
This will be the seventh straight appearance at the Windy City for the Cowgirls. OSU won the event in 2011 thanks to a stellar performance from Kelsey Vines, who tied for first that year.
In 2016, OSU tied for ninth after carding rounds of 292-295-293 (+16) 880. Isabella Deilert was OSU's top finisher in 22nd place after posting 70-73-76 (+3) 219.
This year, OSU will be taking on seven top-25 teams, including four of the top-10 teams in the country.
