Cowgirl Golf Fires 278, Will Enter Final Round With Eight-Stroke Lead At Windy City

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. – The No. 8 Oklahoma State women's golf team carded the sixth lowest round in school history, a 6-under 278, and will enter the final round of the Windy City Collegiate Classic with an eight stroke lead over the field, which includes six other top-25 squads at Northmoor Country Club.
With 18 holes to play, Cowgirl senior Kenzie Neisen is just a stroke off the lead at 5-under 137. The two-time Big 12 individual champion opened the day with a five-under 66, which tied her best round as a Cowgirl and tied for the 10th best round in school history.
Fellow senior Maddie McCrary is only two strokes off the lead at 4-under par, while freshman Stephanie Astrup shot even par 71 in both of her rounds to sit in a tie for ninth with one round to play. Junior Chih-Min Chen is in a tie for 14th place at 1-over par after a 3-under 68 in her afternoon round.
The Cowgirls are coming off a win in their season opening event, the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, and could earn back-to-back tournament titles for the first time since 2016. A victory on Tuesday would be the tenth under fifth-year head coach Courtney Jones.
