August 07, 2017 | Cowgirl Golf
KINGSBARN, Scotland – It was a Sunday to remember for former Oklahoma State golfer Caroline Masson. Just hours after tying for third at the Ricoh Women's British Open with a 13-under par masterpiece, Masson was named to the European Solheim Cup roster by captain Annika Sorenstam.
It will be the third Solheim Cup for Masson, who helped lead the Europeans to victory in Colorado in 2013. The 2017 Solheim Cup will be played at the Des Moines Golf & Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa, on Aug. 18-20.
Masson has over $2.1 million in career earnings on tour since turning pro in 2013. The third place finish in the Women's British Open is her best since winning the Manulife LPGA in Sept. 2016, and is her best career finish in a major.
As a Cowgirl, Masson posted a 73.91 stroke average in her lone season in Stillwater. She earned first-team All-Big 12 Conference honors, as well as first-team All-Big 12 Championship team selection. Masson garnered NGCA Honorable Mention All-American honors as well.
