Cash Posts Two Runner-Up Finishes in Egypt

Sharm El Sheikh, EGYPT – Oklahoma State tennis' Julian Cash continued the trend of Cowboys playing well on the ITF Futures Tour this summer, as he finished runner-up in both singles and doubles during the $15,000 Egypt Men's Futures Sunday.
Cash totaled seven victories in singles action this week, all of which came in straight sets. His only loss was in the finals to top-seeded Lorenzo Frigerio (Italy), 6-4, 6-3. Frigerio is currently ranked No. 434 in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals.
The Brighton, England native also picked up three doubles wins as he advanced through the main draw with partner Tyler Mercier (USA) before falling to falling to Michael Zhu and Junior Alexander Ore, 6-2, 6-3, in the championship match.
Cash's international success this summer comes after another impressive season for the right-hander at OSU. Last year, he posted 30 wins in doubles action en route to earning his second All-America honor as a Cowboy. He also compiled 18 wins in singles competition, which included nine victories over opponents ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Entering his senior season, Cash has a chance to cement his place as one of the most successful competitors in Oklahoma State history. His 64 career doubles triumphs rank him in the top 10 all-time, and he will have a chance to join Arjun Kadhe, Oleksandr Nedovyesov and Jakob Sude as the only Cowboys to earn at least three All-America honors.
