Trio Of Cowgirl Golfers Earn All-Big 12 Recognition For Third Straight Year

STILLWATER – For the third consecutive year and for the 10th time since the league was founded in 1997, the Oklahoma State women's golf team placed three student-athletes on the on the All-Big 12 Conference team.
Cowgirl Emma Broze was selected for a second time, while Maddie McCrary and Linnea Johansson earned All-Big 12 recognition for a third straight year. Cowgirl golfers have now accounted for 53 All-Big 12 selections in the league's history, which is the most of any school.
McCrary and Johansson are just the eighth and ninthg Cowgirls to earn at least three All-Big 12 selections, joining Maria Boden, Caroline Hedwall, Pernilla Lindberg, Karin Kinnerud, Annie Thurman-Young, Karin Sjodin and Linda Wessberg.
Johansson leads all Cowgirls with a 72.9 stroke average in 2016-17. The 2016 WGCA All-American has three top-10 finishes this season, and posted her best individual round – a 66 at the season opening Dick McGuire Invitational – and her best 54-hole score – 10-under 206 also at the Dick McGuire Invitational – this season.
McCrary overcame an injury that held her out for the fall campaign to earn her second career All-Big 12 honor. The junior, who played as an amateur in the LPGA Texas Shootout this week, has a 73.88 stroke average this season, and earned a top five finish at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic last month.
Emma Broze also bounced back from a fall injury to earn a second career All-Big 12 selection. The junior was second at OSU with a 73.56 stroke average, and recorded a 10th place finish in the season opening Dick McGuire Invitational and a 16th place nod at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii.
The Cowgirls were named the No. 5 seed in the upcoming NCAA Regional in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which takes place from May 8-10. It was OSU's 25th consecutive NCAA Regional bid, which is every year since the NCAA moved to the regional format.
