Evans Has Career Game In Cowboys' Loss To No. 1 Kansas

STILLWATER – Jawun Evans recorded his third career double-double with 22 points and a career-high 15 assists in Oklahoma State's 90-85 loss to No. 1 Kansas on Saturday night.
Evans' 15 assists against the Jayhawks is tied for second most by a Division I player in a game this season.
Jeffrey Carroll led all Cowboys in scoring with a career-high 27 points. Seniors Phil Forte, III, and Leyton Hammonds played their final home game for OSU, and tallied 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Carroll scored 10 of OSU's first 13 points, and reached double-figures in just 4:27 of game time.
Kansas led by as much as 12 points in the first half, but OSU closed the half on a 10-1 run to go into the break down, 43-40. Evans scored six of OSU's final eight points of the first half.
The Cowboys took their first lead with 18:35 remaining in the game thanks to an Evans layup that capped a 12-0 OSU run. Carroll's 3-pointer with 18.3 seconds left in regulation cut the Jayhawks' lead to 88-85, but the Cowboys effort wasn't enough.
Frank Mason III had 27 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. Josh Jackson had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Devonte' Graham added 13 points for the Jayhawks, who snapped a three-game skid in Stillwater.
As a team, the Cowboys have made 67 of their last 73 free throws. Evans has now made 29 straight free throws, while Forte has now made 20 straight free throws.
OSU is now 3-2 all-time at home against the AP Poll's No. 1 team, and 3-7 overall.
The Cowboys ended the regular season with a 20-11 overall record and a 9-9 mark in Big 12 play.
