STILLWATER – With top-three finishes in two of their last three events, including a second place outing in Hawaii last week, the Oklahoma State women's golf team is starting to hit their stride at just the right time.
What's at the foundation of the Cowgirls' resurgence? A healthy and talented roster that is coming together thanks to a strong work ethic, said sophomore Chih-Min Chen.
"We're getting more into a rhythm because everyone is working so hard," said the reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year. "We just have to tighten up our game a little and we'll be in good shape. I think we're getting better and better every single week"
The Cowgirls will once again be put to the test thanks to an LSU Tiger Golf Classic field that includes seven other programs currently ranked among the Golfstat top-50 rankings, including No. 11 Duke.
What's more, the University Club course is totally new to the Cowgirl golfers and coaches.
"It's always a challenge playing a new course, but at the same time we're excited," said Chen. "We love taking on new challenges and facing top competition, because it helps to prepare us for the national championships, which is our goal this season."
