Carroll, Solomon Shine In Tough Loss At Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Jeffrey Carroll and Mitchell Solomon combined for 39 points and 11 rebounds in Oklahoma State's 87-80 loss to the No. 2 Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday in Allen Fieldhouse.
Carroll scored 23 for the Cowboys marking his seventh 20-point game this season, and Jawun Evans finished with 15 points and six assists.
Solomon came alive in the second half to record a career-high 16 points - all in the second half. He was 6-of-6 from the floor and grabbed four rebounds in 21 minutes.
Freshman Lindy Waters, III, made his return to the court after he missed the last three games with an injury and scored eight points. Davon Dillard posted career-high eight rebounds in just 20 minutes.
The Cowboys got off to a nice start, holding the Jayhawks to 10 points in the first 12 minutes. Oklahoma State ran out to an 11-point lead over that same span, aided by early buckets from Evans and Carroll.
The Jayhawks grabbed their first lead when Devonte' Graham bursted down the lane for a layup with 14:10 left in the game. Graham also had a key 3-pointer, and Frank Mason, III, got loose in transition to help Kansas to the tight victory.
Four Kansas players scored double-digits. Mason led all Jayhawks with 22 points, and Josh Jackson added 20 with 11 rebounds.
Graham scored 20 points for Kansas, and Svi Mykhailiuk had 14. Landen Lucas added seven points and 12 rebounds.

The Cowboys will return home to face Brad Underwood's alma mater, No. 25 Kansas State, on Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ESPNU. It will be the 1,000th men's basketball game in historic Gallagher-Iba Arena.
