Olympic Women's Golf Coverage; Tee Times, Leaderboard
August 16, 2016 | Cowgirl Golf
STILLWATER – A pair of former Cowgirl golfers, Caroline Masson and Pernilla Lindberg, will tee off in Rio de Janiero on Wednesday morning in hope of taking home the sport's first Olympic gold medal since 1904.
Golf has returned to the Games for the first time in 112 years, and the Golf Channel will have all of the coverage starting at 4 a.m. Central and continuing throughout the day.
The home course for the event is the brand-new par 71, 6,245-yard Reserva de Marapendi Golf Course, which hosted the men's competition last week.
Unlike the men's tournament, however, the top players from around the world will be on the course in Rio for the women's tournament. The top nine players in the world will be in the field, as will a who's-who of LPGA stars.
Masson is currently ranked No. 84 in the world and has 10 career top-10 finishes on the LPGA Tour. The Gladbeck, Germany, native was a 2009 NGCA All-American for OSU with a 73.91 stroke average in her lone season at Karsten Creek.
Originally from Bollnäs, Sweden, Lindberg is a three-time NGCA All-American, including a pair of first-team nods, and a four-time NGCA All-American Scholar. The 2008 Big 12 Player of the Year turned pro in 2010, and is currently ranked No. 91 in the world thanks to five professional top-10 finishes.
Olympic Golf Tee Times
