Freshman Chen One Of Four Cowgirls In U.S. Women's Open

SAN MARTIN, Calif. – Oklahoma State freshman Chih-Min Chen made the field for the U.S. Women's Open, and will join three former Cowgirls in action Thursday at CordeValle Golf Club.
The Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Chen is slated to tee off at 7:11 a.m. Pacific (9:11 a.m. Central) on Thursday, and will be the first current OSU golfer to play in the U.S. Women's Open since 2013.
Chen recently represented Taiwan at the World University Games in France following a successful freshman campaign. She was named All-Big 12, and her season stroke average of 73.59 is the second best by a Cowgirl freshman in school history behind only Caroline Hedwall's 72.94 in 2009.
Former Cowgirls Julie Yang, Pernilla Lindberg and Caroline Masson will also be in the field at the par-72, 6,752-yard course in San Martin, California.
Fox Sports 1 (July 7-8) and Fox (July 9-10) will televise the tournament from 2-7 p.m. Central each day.
