Cowgirl Golfers Competing Around The Globe This Week

STILLWATER – After an exciting run at the NCAA Championships last month, several Oklahoma State women's golfers will be representing the Cowgirls all over the globe this week.
Junior Linnea Johansson and sophomore Emma Broze will both compete at the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship at Dundonald Links in Scotland starting Tuesday. Johansson earned Women's Golf Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-American honors this season, while Broze earned her second Big 12 postseason accolade in as many years with a fifth place finish at the conference championship in April.

Cowgirl freshman Chih-Min Chen will represent Taiwan in the World University Games starting Thursday at the Planchetorte Golf Course in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France. Chen is the ninth OSU golfer to earn Big 12 Newcomer/Freshman of the Year honors after a standout rookie season in Stillwater.

Our Oklahoma natives, Alexis Sadeghy and McCandren Lewis, took on local competition at the Tulsa Country Club for the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Mid-Am Championship, which wrapped up play on Tuesday. After the first day of action, Sadeghy's 1-over 72 was good for third place, while Lewis was tied for sixth with a 4-over 75.

Not to be outdone, Isabella Deilert is participaing in the Nordea Future Series: Österåker Open, a 36-hole stroke play event in her home country of Sweden. The junior competed in seven events for the Cowgirls this season, including a sixth place finish at the O-City Spring Classic and a perfect 2-0 mark in Bedlam Cup match-play action.
