Cowgirl Golf Headed To Shoal Creek For 24th Straight NCAA Regional

STILLWATER – One day after winning the Big 12 title, the Oklahoma State women's golf team learned it will be the No. 3 seed at the Shoal Creek NCAA Regional on May 5-7.
The Shoal Creek (Ala.) Golf Club is one of four NCAA Regional sites, and will include 18 squads hoping to keep their national title hopes alive. The top six teams from each regional site, along with the three lowest individual players not on those teams, will advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., May 20-25.
This will be OSU's 24th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance, which is every year since the inception of the regional format in 1993. The Cowgirls will look to advance to the NCAA Championships for the 21st time in program history.
Leading the charge for OSU will be Kenzie Neisen, who won her second straight Big 12 individual title on Sunday. The sophomore shot a 6-under 66 on the final round, which tied for the lowest in Big 12 Championship history, and her overall score of 9-under 207 broke the previous conference record by a stroke.
Emma Broze and Linnea Johansson joined Neisen on the Big 12 All-Tournament team. Broze carded seven birdies on the final 12 holes on Sunday to finish tied for fifth with a 1-under 215. She jumped 11 spots on the leaderboard in the process, which was the largest jump among the top 20 finishers. Johansson went 72-71-73 on the weekend to finish tied for ninth at even par. This marks two straight seasons with top-10 finishes at the Big 12 Championships for Johansson.
As a team, OSU has won its last four events, including an 11-stroke victory over Texas in the Big 12 Championship. The Cowgirls closed out at 8-under 856, which broke the record for the lowest 54-hole score in Big 12 Championship history by five strokes.
