STILLWATER – For the fifth straight season, multiple members of the Oklahoma State women's golf team were named Academic All-Big 12.
Cowgirl junior Linnea Johansson earned her second consecutive First Team Academic All-Big 12 nod, and she was joined on the first team by the reigning Big 12 individual champion, sophomore Kenzie Neisen.
Johansson and Neisen are the 48th and 49th Cowgirls to be named Academic All-Big 12 golfers since the inception of the league in 1997.
This season, 35 men's golfers and 25 women's golfers from across the conference made one of the two academic squads.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
The Cowgirls return to action on Saturday when they host rival Oklahoma at Karsten Creek for the Bedlam Cup. The first of two match play rounds begins at 8 a.m.
