Cash and Kadhe Roll Into Back Draw Semifinals At National Indoors

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Oklahoma State tennis' top-ranked duo of Julian Cash and Arjun Kadhe picked up their first win of the week and advanced into the consolation semifinals of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Friday.
The Cowboys squared off with TCU's No. 41-ranked Trevor Johnson and Reese Stadler in their quarterfinal matchup. Despite the duo's respective teams being Big 12 rivals, Friday's contest marked the first time that these two tandems would face each other.
Cash and Kadhe found themselves in a tight affair from the beginning as the exchanged serve with the TCU tandem throughout the contest. The difference in the match proved to be Cash and Kadhe's ability to secure an early break point in both the first and second sets. Those break points helped to put momentum on the Cowboys' side and steered them to victory as they knocked off TCU's highest-ranked doubles tandem in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, to secure their spot in Saturday's semifinals.
Their triumph on Friday means that Cash and Kadhe will make their second consecutive appearance in the back draw semifinals of the tournament, where the Cowboy duo will now face their toughest test to date as they square off with the nation's No. 2-ranked team of Filip Bergevi and Florian Lakat (California) in a matchup of the top-ranked teams in the country.
Cash and Kadhe bested the Cal duo in their only previous meeting as they beat the Golden Bears, 6-3, on March 3 in a neutral-site matchup. The high-stakes contest between the nation's top tandems is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
