Cowgirls Well Represent At Solheim Cup Showdown In Germany

ST. LEON-ROT, Germany – Oklahoma State women's golf will be well represented at the 2015 Solheim Cup, which tees of at the St. Leon Golf Club in Germany on Friday.
Former Cowgirls Caroline Hedwall and Caroline Masson were once again named to the 2015 European Solheim Cup team, which will look to defend its title against the Americans.
Hedwall, of Sweden, won the NCAA individual championship as a Cowgirl in 2010, and was a two-time Big 12 Player of the Year. This will be her third Solheim Cup after as she clinched the 2013 championship for Europe after becoming the first player in the competition's history to win five individual matches.
Masson is currently ranked as the No. 81 golfer in the world, and will be competing in the Solheim Cup for a second time. The German went 2-1-1 in helping the Europeans win the 2013 event. Masson helped the Cowgirls win the 2009 Big 12 championship and finish fourth at the NCAA Championships.
The three-day Solheim Cup is a match play event, and each match is worth one point. Fourteen points are required for the defending champion Europeans to retain the cup, while the Americans will need 15 to bring the trophy back the U.S.
