Cowgirls At The U.S. Women's Open

Three former Oklahoma State standouts will be in action this week when play gets underway at the U.S. Women's Open Championship at Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pa. Caroline Hedwall, Pernilla Lindberg and Caroline Masson are all set to compete at the par-70, 6,483-yard layout. In preparation for this year's national championship, we have provided capsules on the three Cowgirl representatives.

Caroline Hedwall
· Has played in 12 LPGA Tour events this season
· Has made the cut on eight occasions with her top finish being a tie for 26th place at the Swinging Skirts LPGA
· Has five career Ladies European Tour victories to her credit
· Has twice been a member of the European Solheim Cup squad
· Became the first player in LET history to be named both the Rookie and Player of the Year in 2011
· Has made three U.S. Women's Open starts
· Made her first start at the event in 2012
· Opened with a 68 in 2013 and eventually tied for 31st place at 10-over 298
· Last year, she carded a 292 tally to finish 38th

Pernilla Lindberg
· Has made 15 LPGA starts on the year
· In 2015, has made 12 cuts on Tour with her best finish coming at the Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship where she closed with a 65 to tie for 16th at 8-under 205
· Is making her third career start at the U.S. Women's Open
· Made her first start at the event in 2013
· Last year, Lindberg finished 63rd after posting a 72-hole total of 300
· Opened with a 72 during the first round a year ago for her career-best round at the event

· Masson has one LET victory to her credit after winning the 2012 South African Women's Open
· Finished second on the LET money list in 2012
· Was a European Solheim Cup squad member in 2013
· Has played in 15 events on the LPGA Tour in 2015
· Has made 10 cuts on the year with a season-best finish coming at the HSBC Women's where she placed seventh
· Competed at the U.S. Women's Open for the first time in 2013 where she tied for 54th place
· Finished 28th a year ago after closing with a 69 to finish at 9-over 289
