Lindberg Posts Top Five At U.S. Women’s Open

LANCASTER, Pa. — Former Oklahoma State All-American Pernilla Lindberg fired a closing 67 on Sunday at the U.S. Women's Open to finish in a tie for fifth place at Lancaster Country Club.
Lindberg shared fifth place with five other players and came in five shots behind tournament champion In Gee Chun. In addition to her 3-under closing round, she posted three consecutive 70s to open the event.
During her fourth round, Lindberg opened with a birdie before adding another at the fourth. She added another birdie at the ninth to turn in 3-under 32. After carding five consecutive pars, Lindberg posted her lone bogey of the day at the 15th before rebounding with a birdie at the 16th. She finished with a pair of pars for an even-par inward nine of 35.
Former Cowgirls Caroline Masson and Caroline Hedwall were also in the field at the event. Both players missed the cut.
