Cowgirls Continue Winning Ways Against Iowa State

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team ran its winning streak to three in a row on Saturday night with a 60-48 victory over Iowa State in front of 2,934 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The win gave the Cowgirls their first season sweep over the Cyclones since 1996 and moved them to 16-8 overall and 6-7 in Big 12 play on the year. Iowa State dipped to 15-9 and 6-7.
OSU held the ISU offense in check early, limiting the Cyclones to just two points through the first five-plus minutes of the game while claiming a 12-2 advantage.
ISU pulled within four with 10:37 to go before OSU used another 5-0 run to push the margin back to 21-12.
The Cyclone defense held the Cowgirls to just two points over the final 5:47 of the half to pull within four at 27-23 heading into the halftime locker room.
OSU got an offensive rebound and putback from freshman Kaylee Jensen with 13:49 to go in the contest to push the advantage to double figures for the first time in the second half at 39-29.
However, ISU answered with an 11-4 run to get within three at 43-40.
Brynn Williamson drilled a pair of 3-pointers down the stretch to pull the Cyclones within four. After Williamson's second trey at the 3:39 mark, the Cowgirls quickly pushed the margin back to double figures with an 8-0 spurt, including four points from junior Brittney Martin.
Sophomore Roshunda Johnson led all scorers with 15 points. Martin logged a double-double, finishing with 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Jensen added 12 points and nine boards.
Nikkie Moody paced ISU with 14 points and seven assists.
OSU will be back in action on Wednesday night at West Virginia.
